Bret Michaels has one more shout out for Mechanicsburg after special season ends

Bret Michaels had one more shout out for his guys late Friday night.
The legendary rocker was on the road for a concert, but his heart was back in Mechanicsburg with his Wildcats. Michaels played for Mechanicsburg High, and he has showed his support through social media throughout this special season.
And just a short time after Mechanicsburg’s impressive season — the Wildcats finished 11-1 — came to an end with a 26-14 loss to Bishop McDevitt in the District 3 5A playoffs, Michaels let them know he was still with them.
“Even though they came up short, what an incredible season,” he wrote on Facebook while sharing a previous PennLive article about his support of the team. “Always my upmost respect and support!”
Mechanicsburg coach Dave Heckard told PennLive prior to Friday’s game that the team has appreciated Michaels’ support.
“For me personally, I like (them) so it’s pretty cool that this is a guy who I used to listen to growing up,” he said of Michaels.
“It’s has been talked about out in the community for sure. We have a lot of comments on social media,” Heckard said. “We are just grateful that Bret has taken an interest in our football team this season. The players and fans really appreciate him reaching out.”
